The View That Greets And Fascinates

This is the view that greets me every morning when I am home in Muscat, Oman. A place where I restarted my life recreated my life and maybe ‘just maybe’ found purpose of my life.

What do you think when you see this image? Does it stir something an emotion or a feeling? How does it feel?

For me Sunsets and Sunrises hold a special place. Why? or Wow! Could be one of the reactions …. I might elaborate on it but not now or we might digress from this VIEW.

Let’s introduce you to the view. This ecstatic view is from my balcony on 6th floor of my apartment. A dream home for me in more ways than one. Huge master bedroom with a walk in closet…(a girl’s dream isn’t it…hehehe) to start with. Living room was almost a huge play space for my cat…yes a big one… and the view of International airport from my living room and guest bedroom balcony (A dream come true for my son). It was an instant YES for us when we visited this place.

So this is a photo I took from my phone at 5.30 AM. What you see is the sun rising that actually looks like an orange ball. This image always takes me back to the story of Hanuman as a child.

The story goes that Hanuman was very naughty as a child ( I guess children should be isn’t it). He woke up one morning famished and as he failed to find his mom around was upset when his eyes fell on the orange coloured fruit in the sky. Now he could fly right!!!! So he leaped from his bedroom window and flew straight to this fascinating fruit. Swallowed it whole. Imagine the chaos it ensued….suddenly the world is plunged into darkness. Well as our puranas literally draw this beautiful episode; there is something to be learnt always.

Now we look right under that orange ball, and we see a far away view of the airport. Airlines in recent times have become a part of our life just like a car or a bike. (Rewind to some years back when it was a luxury we would as a middle-class family would just dream of flying).

NOW THE REAL REASON why this view is so fascinating. We all have passed through domestic or international airports. It’s like a huge Symphony Orchestra – a masterpiece of coordination, rhythm and precision. The conductor – The control tower stands in the middle ….. conducting with a poise and calm, every section ( security, boarding etc) to guide them to come in the right moment, in the right tempo so to avoid clashes and chaos. Runways are the stage where take-offs and landings perform their crescendos, while terminals hum in softer tones. Add to this the murmurs of passengers, rhythmic beeping of scanners and rolling of luggage; add to the musical show,

There are times when the symphony peeks into energetic allegros and there are times when it slows down to quiet adagio. Yet the music never stops, it only shifts tempo as the world spins and this never ending symphony goes on.

Airports are the best proofs that chaos can turn into order with so many parts moving together in harmony and rhythm.
